A few things stuck out to me in this passage:
"Glorify your Son so he can give glory back to you"
An interesting concept...and one that bears a ton of responsibility. Glorify me so that I can glorify You. How easy is it for us to seek the glory for ourselves, not for Him? Man, we really have to be in the right mindset to be able to ask for Him to glorify us so that we can glorify Him.
"I pray that they will all be one. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me."
The main thing He prayed for here. Interesting- not prayer for advancement of His Word or anything like that, but a prayer for unity in his people. As I think about our experiences in the Kingdom...I see this being very important also- just never fully realized it. We can only do so much by ourselves, but when we get together...unified...with out believers, we accomplish so much more. Way cool.
"Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them."
I guess this would be the purpose- the reason for Him to glorify the Father, the reason for the rest of us to be unified: so that our hearts will be full of His love, full of Him.
So my prayer today? Glory, unity, and a heart filled with Him.
